| On 14th January, Jay Miller visited Can Ràfols dels Caus for a comprehensive tasting of new vintages, old vintages and new wines, as well as engaging in a interactive tasting in the cellar of un-bottled wines from the barrels and vats. He later joined the Export team and the owner Carlos Esteva and his wife Assumpta for an informal evening meal, accompanied by more fabulous wines. Jay Miller is the wine journalist responsible for rating and recommending all of the wines from Spain and South America for Robert Parker's benchmark wine guides and website "The Wine Advocate". A self-confessed lover of rosé cava and Jabugo, Jay was very discreet and gave very little away as he tasted over 30 of our wines, but the Rocallís 2002 seemed to "hit a home run" in his own words. The rosés also seemed to pleasantly surprise Jay. We shall await Mr Miller's comments and scores in the coming spring. |
